When the light left the room, the game began — an escape from what is toward what I want it to be.

I think about pun — one element or context shifts, so that what is no longer remains what it was.
[Stepping out of the car, in silence — perhaps unconsciously — I start running toward the horizon of the plain]
Isn’t pun itself a form of escape?
Escape from repetition — or from what seems already settled.
[Following the sound of Ryuichi’s breathing, I move through the door at the far end of the room toward the glaciers]
A pun is a play on words.
Isn’t play itself a form of escape?

“E-scape” is a deliberate alteration of a term from the humanities, meant to point toward the intersections of art and psychology. Escapism refers to a mental deviation from the unpleasant aspects of everyday life — particularly through activities that involve creativity and play.
